view from a hotel window

I’m in Bristol, attending a “community consultation workshop” on the Review of Complexity Science as an EPSRC Research Area.  I travelled down by train last night, and walked to the hotel.  Google maps wanted me to cut across some weird footbridge over a river, and wander through back streets.  Since it was 10 pm, pitch dark, and very windy, I thanked it kindly, and walked straight up the well-lit main road.
