sequestering carbon, several books at a time XLVII

The latest batch:

I got my other half a Raspberry Pi for his birthday, so, of course, we then had to get several books about it.  (I have building a supercomputer out of Raspberry Pis on my to do list, but then, doesn’t everybody?)

I got the Larbalestier after reading James Nicholl’s review, and the Cato after reading Scalzi’s Big Idea post.  Reading blogs can be expensive.

  1. So this is your more informal hangout. I had been aware of only the main book reviews list.

I'll be curious to see what you think of the Larbalestier book. I didn't like it much. Here's my review, which (I notice once again) needs some work:

I would welcome your comments on it.

    1. Hi Chris

Yes, my other site is more archival; this one is for day to day bits and bobs.

There is little correlation between the inflow of books and the outflow of reviews: I sometimes leave a book maturing on the shelves years (even decades) before I get round to reading it. So please don't expect a review of the Larbalestier any time soon!

Thanks for the link to your interesting review. I suspect the reason you do (and I will) find the book is "jargon-laden" is that it is her PhD thesis. Such works are written for the examiners, not for the general public :-)
